故事描述一群普通人（25支参赛队伍）在世界上速度最快、最危险的夜间非/法街头赛车活动中一较高下。他们驾着精心改装的、拉风的豪华跑车在夜色中从伦敦南区奔向苏格兰高地，希望能夺得数额不菲的大奖。他们发誓要冲破英国极权政府颁布的宵禁令，为自由而战。每辆赛车上都装配了致命武器，任何阻挡他们前进的人都将遭到无情打击。剧本进一步描述道，一种高致命性的动物疫情在全世界传播，政府颁布了宵禁令。虽然一到夜里家家户户都关门闭户，但「宵禁赛车」也应运而生。参赛者从黄昏一直赛到第二天凌晨，胜者将赢得前往「天堂岛」的资格——这是一个没有任何疫情的岛屿，踏上这座岛就像进入了安全港。该活动一年举办一次，任何人都可以参加角逐……但是每次的比赛地点都不相同。今年的比赛地点设在英国，伦敦为起点。。Charlie's getting married.
