影片讲述了花季少女张辛儿（郭采洁 饰）因年少时目睹父母被害而受到精神创伤，这段痛苦记忆伴随着她在福利院长大成人，反复的折磨让她有了轻生念头。作为张辛儿监护人的辅导员刘梅（刘雪华 饰）寸步不离的照顾，多次挽救她跌落深渊。当刘梅得知生物科学家董教授（果靖霖 饰）动物记忆切割实验成功的消息，燃起新的希望。为了让张辛儿忘记过去，刘梅苦心找到董教授，请求他帮助张辛儿重塑这段痛苦记忆。张辛儿也愿意冒险成为第一例人体记忆切割实验对象。原本顺利的实验，却因为接连不断的意外发现而逐渐走向失控，最终在失败崩溃边缘，张辛儿父母惨案的真相却浮出水面……。Mike and Heather's father die and they go to his favorite spot to spread his ashes.
